the script

Characters

Richard, Rick, Roberto, Roberta, Rose-Mary, Xuxa

(You see a mansion it is raining and then a lighted window.  People 
are laughing and talking. Then you are in a room with a fireplace)

Richard- Hey everybody lets play the name game. (Applause and cheering). 

Rick- Everyone get in a circle. (everyone gets in a circle) 

Rose-mary- Someone will start and then we will go clockwise around the
circle.

Richard- Each of us will use a funny name. (Light laughter and applause)

Rick- I'll go first since no one vounteered. Bob. (Rose goes He, He, He) 
Bob, Bob, bo bob banana fana fo fob, mi my mo mob Bob. 

Richard- Buck, Buck bo buck banana fana fo... (Knocking interupts the song. 
Roberto walddles in) 

Roberto- Pardone me sir sombody is at the door shall I get it? 

Rick- Yes, quite. (Roberto answers the door).

	(everybody follows Roberto to the door. He pauses.)

Richard- Somebody has to open the door.

Roberto- I'll open the door.

(roberto opens the door, there is a person standing there.)

Person- Someone at this party killed me.

Group- Which one of us did it?

Person- It was (she dies. The thunder booms and Xuxu is standing in the 
back door with a trench coat on)

(cut back to the gang)

Roberta- Can anyone see whats sticking out of her back?

Richard- I believe it is a spork.  (Roberta pulls it out.  The body roles 
over and her hand falls open. There is a note in her hand. There is more 
thunder and lightning. Rick picks up the note. No one notices Xuxa walking 
in behind them and joining them.)

Rosemary- Can anybody tell me what that is?

Roberto- I belive it is a note.

Rick- Everbody calm down!

(Rick opens the note and begins to read)

Rick- Dear Press peoplel, I have some information on a certain party.

Xuxa- Oh my, the ink is benig washed away by the rain.

Roberto- We must try to reconstruct the Blackmail note. 

Xuxa- Why it has nothing to do with us?

Roberto- only the fact that one of us killed her.

Richard- I believe I saw the word "looks." Since it has an "S" on the end 
it means it was several people. 

Rose-mary- No you must remember to use the verb sbject agreement rule.

Roberta- Yes that rule means that if a singular noun or pronoun is used 
before the verb than the verb ends with an S. And if the noun is plural the 
verb is left alone.

Rose-mary- Very good Roberta, but this is all assunming this note was written 
in the present tense. If it was written in the past tense the rules would not hold true.

(PAUSE TAPE TO ALLOW TIME TO DO EXAMPLES ON ACCOMPANING WORK SHEET.)

SIGN: and now the conclusion to the marlboro lane murder mystery on the late night mystery 
theater hour, brought to you by the fine people at the Canadian Intelligence Agency who 
bring you the very best in jelly donuts, moose products and luke-warm coffee.

rick: " So one person commited the murder.

roberta : " So that reminds me that it said she looks. This indicates a 
female perportrater.

Roberto: This person could of not survived long with a spork in her back. 
That means the one who was late is the murderer.

Roberta- I have been working here all day, I couldn't have done it.  Either 
of you two could have though. (She points at Rose-mary and Xuxa)

Rose-mary- I wasn't late.

Xuxa- Neither was I.

Rick- I was talking to Rose-mary earlier so she couldn't have done it. 

Roberto- What about Xuxa?  Can anyone think of a way to prove or disprove 
that she was here? (everyone looks at her)

Xuxa- O.K. I confess I did it, and I would have got away with it if it 
wasn't for you pesky kids. (Roberta, and Roberto each pull out a badge)

R & R- Don't move Xuxa. We are part of the CIA. 

Xuxa- The Canadian Intelligence agency?

R & R- Yes (they put her in cuffs and take her away)

Rick- That was enough excitment for one night, lets all go home.
