From our boat we floated candles on the river.
Then we watched the evening Ganga aarti - an nightly religious ceremony.
Many people wake up at the crack of dawn to bathe in the Ganges.
Some people get up early to do their laundry.
The west river bank is a very busy place.
We thought the prices at a local silk shop were very reasonable...
Until we realized they the were talking dollars and not rupees!
In the afternoon we went to Sarnath.
There were many Buddhist monks there.
And a peacock.
Then we went back to our 5 star accomodations.
